Type "pnputil /delete-driver oem#.inf /uninstall /force" where oem# is the associated inf for the realtek driver (make sure its the audio ones). Then ctrt+f "Realtek" in notepad, and find every driver related to Realtek. Right click on "cmd" and "Run as Administrator"Ĭopy the results to notepad (easier to do the next step, you can highlight the output, left click which copies to clipboard automatically, and paste into notepad). Uninstall Realtek audio drivers from Programs/Files if you can find it in there Right click on your Realtek Audio device, uninstall device, check box to remove files I think what did the trick was using PNPUTIL to delete ALL drivers related to Realtek Audio (you have to go through all the oemXXX.inf files and remove them one by one). I spoke with HP support and tried every fix they outlined too, and now they're suggesting I reimage the laptop.
